Appearance: Arshtat is tall for a woman and rather well endowed. She looks younger than her actual age despite the silver hair the royal family shares. She takes pride in her appearance only because she feels she must as part of her station to maintain control.
Personality: There are two parts to Arshtat’s personality; there is her true demeanor, and the power of the sun rune. Her true demeanor is one of calm strength. She had her own hopes and dreams for her life, but put them aside in order to be strong for her country. She has a strong sense of duty and will always follow what is best for many over what is best for herself. Most of this drive was brought about by the bloody battle preceding her mother’s coronation which she never wanted to witness again. To the people she needs to stern to she will be, but to her family and friends she is nothing but gentle and loving.
The other half of her personality appears when she looses control of the Sun Rune. When this occurs, her strength remains but her gentleness is completely lost. All she can think about is how she is right and just in all of her actions and everyone should bow to her for she has been chosen by the sun. She will kill any in her way in the name of the supreme justice of her will.

Weaknesses: When the Sun Rune takes over she has no control over any of her actions. She will also put her own needs aside for others to the point of hurting herself.
History: Queen Arshtat Falenas was the first born daughter of Falzahrem and Kauss Barows. Through the bloody succession war Falzahram, though the younger of two sisters, was crowned queen. Her reign was short and Arshtat was elevated to the throne. Though some in the country still believed that her cousin Haswar should have been queen, Arshtat was quite popular among the populace and brought the country together again. There was further scandal when the Sacred Games to decide her husband ended in the victory in a foreigner, Ferid, who fought for himself. Any doubts about their ability to lead were assuaged however when they successfully fended off the New Armes invasion. All agreed that it was only through their leadership that the divided country was able to come together and win that war.
Things continued in relative peace as Arshtat and Ferid worked on rebuilding their country and making it strong again. During this time Arshtat had two children, first a son, Freyjadour, and then the crown princess Lymsleia. She loved her children above all else and chose to shield them from the true horrors of how she had ascended to the throne. Since the three children of the feuding sisters of the succession war had made a pact not to allow it to happen again, she felt there was no reason to worry them.
Everything took a turn for the worse when in SY 445 when Lucretia advised her the only way to stop the Godwin’s desire for the Sun Rune was to bear it herself. Though strong she wasn’t a match for the Sun Rune, it began to corrupt her mind and fill herself with a sense of vengeful justice. The Sun Rune quickly released it’s power on the citizens of Lordlake, destroying the town completely, in response to their uprising and supposed theft of the Dawn Rune.
Arshtat was never the same after bearing the Sun Rune. She was able to maintain her composure in most situations, but in times of great negative emotion the Sun Rune would take control. As the noble’s squabbling began to further tear apart the country, and she was forced to hold a Sacred Games for her 10 year old daughter the rune took further hold of her mind. It gained complete control in her last moments of life. When Godwin’s forces attacked the Sun Palace, she used the runes power to save Ferid’s life by destroying an archer. However in her distressed state the rune easily took over her mind. Ferid had always been able to calm her from the rune’s hold, but this time its power caused her to kill even him. Once he was gone her despair fed the rune into destroying the country. Before it could Georg ran Arshtat through with his sword, killing Arshtat to save Falena.
The shock pulled her out of the runes power long enough for her to thank Georg, and make him promise to protect the children she could not. She faded away into the Sun Runes light as the others it had killed had. However instead of opening her eyes in the after life she found herself staring into a lake outside of a strange castle, rune still on her forehead but strangely muted.
